Gallery 9 features the jewelry craftsmanship of Brazilian-born Carlos Roberto Ribeiro for the month of October. Ribeiro designs and creates silver jewelry with unique techniques he has developed over 27 years of artistic practice and invention. His methods includes intricate braiding, swirls, and balanced placement of semi-precious stones and gems.
This month, Ribeiro highlights the birthstone of October – the opal. Ribeiro purchases the raw Australian stones locally, and painstakingly polishes the gems to reveal their signature sparkling rainbow flashes of color. These new pieces are beautifully showcased in silver pendants, bracelets and earrings.
Join Carlos Roberto Ribeiro in discussing his art during Gallery Walk, Saturday, October 7, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Gallery 9, 1012 Water Street, in Port Townsend. The gallery is open daily from 10am-6pm. See gallery-9.com or call 360-379-8881 for more information.
