Marcy Gordon presents new paintings and drawings that include botanicals, nudes and landscape imagery. Gordon’s new landscape shows the initial painting in a series of historic Jefferson County barns. Many of these are in a state of disrepair and even while working on this project, several have since collapsed. In an area of agricultural growth with organic farms, Gordon sees a tragic loss of these cultural and classic buildings and her paintings of them are to at least catalog these, some of our largest historic structures before they’re gone.
Join Gordon and Mitch Poling, kayak-builder and our other artists in discussing their work during Gallery Walk, Saturday, March 5, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Gallery 9, 1012 Water Street, in Port Townsend. See gallery-9.com or call 379-8881 for more information.
