Gallery 9 Featured Artists for June 4, 2016
Nancy Cherry Eifert – Nature Photography and
Carlos Roberto Costa Ribeiro – Fine Jewelry
Gallery Nine presents two well-known Port Townsend artists in a show of silver jewelry and nature photography for during the month of June.
Nancy Cherry Eifert’s “Liquid Landscape,” series comes from her backcountry and day hikes in and around Olympic National Park and focuses on water in its many variations and subtle forms. These images reflect time and movement, a fleeting moment of a landscape she’s deeply passionate about. The motion of falling water, flowing rivers and creeks, giant waves and thick fog are collected here. These prints show moments of fleeting events in this artist’s life. They are images that represent places that will never be exactly the same the next time she or anyone else is there. These photographs represent the many lives of water, but also represents the daily life of Eifert, a working photographer on the Olympic Peninsula.
Carlos Roberto Costa Ribeiro has been a professional jeweler for over 25 years and learned his craft in his native country of Brazil using hand tools and raw materials. He has developed his own techniques over time and now has a distinctive style that is instantly recognizable. Among Roberto’s newest pieces are a series of pendants featuring raw emeralds, the natural green complements truly fit the season here on the Olympic Peninsula. They work beautifully in his jewelry creations, resulting in a unique style of rustic sophistication.
Join Nancy, Roberto and other gallery artists in discussing their work during Gallery Walk, Saturday, June 4, from5:30 to 8 p.m., at Gallery 9, 1012 Water Street, in Port Townsend. See gallery-9.com or call 379-8881 for more information.
